Iron Pipe Alewerks

(540) 832-3824

Together this father and son duo, Steve (pictured left) and Zach (pictured right), have teamed up to share with you their love for fresh, flavorful craft beers. They  have been brewing together for what seems like forever in the family garage, and now they are expanding their horizons to share their experiences with you. Zach’s appreciation and passion for hand-crafted beers runs deep. Working extensively within the craft beer market and brewery scene over the last 7 years, Zach has been able to expand his repertoire and refine his skills as a brewer.  Zach carefully selects the grains to develop his recipes with traditional flavors in mind, while at times twisting the rules, looking to extract new flavors.

Zach and Steve both studied for the BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program), working alongside the guidance of an accomplished master judge. That shared experience has helped them to identify traditional styles by taste, smell, and standards of the brewing process, which help them brew flavorful and quality beers. It's been a long time coming, but the Brewpub is now open and ready to share with you in the Historical 1929 American Silk Mill Factory building downtown Orange, VA.

Even Rachel Ray has a taste for Well Hung® [Jan-Feb 2013 issue of her magazine, under the headline, “LOL Labels”]If you would like to get your hands on some Well Hung® Vineyard wine, just ask for it (carefully) in your favorite wine shop.

Willow Spring Brewery

110 E Main St, Orange, VA 22960

(540) 661-0004

The first brewery in Orange VA is now pouring its own in-house hand-crafted beers! Inspired by Willow Spring’s crystal clear water, bubbling from a hidden spring in Orange County which has provided refreshment to man and wildlife alike for hundreds of years, our beers are all brewed using local water sources nature has graciously provided to us.

Owned by and located in the back room of The Light Well restaurant, (110 E Main St Orange VA, ), Willow Spring Brewery is now in operation.  Brewer Dave Ganoe, also the chef of the Light Well, is currently offering 4 original recipes:

  • The flagship brew, The Fat Nancy, an American Style pale ale, commemorates an 1888 train wreck which occurred just west of Orange.

  • The Mad Jimmy - named after Orange County's favorite son, President James Madison.  Brew Master Ganoe carefully crafts every batch of this double IPA.

  • Rapid Ann Rye, a red ale named after our lovely Rapidan River, one of the premier headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay and the drinking water source of the surrounding counties.

  • Chicken Mountain Chicory Stout, a unique dark beer made with locally harvested chicory - a lovely, smooth, 5% ABV stout.

And enjoy the Light Well fare with your draught!
