4-H Therapeutic Adventure Camp of Orange

The Therapeutic Adventure Camp of Orange, also known as TACO, is located in Orange Virginia. It is a 4-H sponsored event run by a committee of volunteers. The program serves special needs youth ages 9-19 that are Orange County residents. The campers participate in activities such as horseback riding, arts and crafts, and horse education. TACO offers a week long summer camp.

The Avis Beasley Community Outreach Group, a 501 (c)(3) organization, was founded in
2017 in remembrance of Avis Beasley. Avis, born and raised in Gordonsville, VA, was a veteran, a former member of the Gordonsville Town Council and a proud single mother of two. We seek to create a welcoming environment for the entire community that houses several outlets of expression for all ages with an emphasis on children to help enhance their future.

Sanford Reaves Jr. is seeking re-election as a director of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
Reaves has served as a director for the last three years. He is currently chairman of the HR committee and newly appointed to the VMDA board, SERVING Virginia/Maryland and Delaware region.
Sanford is a life-long native of Culpeper. He graduated in 1974 from the Culpeper County High School. He is a 1976 graduate of Smithdeal- Massey Business College of Richmond and 2005 graduate of the Virginia Union University School of Theology (Master of Divinity). He is a son of the Antioch Baptist Church of Culpeper and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Locust Grove. He is also a 40-year strong supporter and proud member of the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
He lives in the Salem District of Culpeper (REC Region IV) with his wife of 44 years, Lorraine and has three children and five grandchildren. Since 1995 he has been the owner and president of Sanford and Sons Construction and Janitorial Services. He is also a local realtor and has served on the Culpeper County Planning Commission for 28 years and currently holds the position of Chairman.
Sanford received his Certificate of achievement award in April 2019 for successfully completing the National Credentialed Cooperative Director Program.
REC members will be receiving REC Proxy votes beginning July 6, and the deadline to return the ballots is Aug. 19. Voters will be eligible to receive prizes on the day of the annual meeting and do not have to be present to win.

Services to Abused Families, Inc. (SAFE) is a private, non-profit 501c (3) organization established in 1980 to serve survivors of domestic violence. Over the years, SAFE has expanded its services to meet the needs of the community.
