From the Director
Where has this year gone? It seems like just a few days ago I was sitting in this chair writing my first message to you. Fast forward and we are already seeing leaves fall and are feeling the autumn chill in the air!
I hope everyone had a chance to come out to the Street Festival (it sure seemed like everyone in the community was there!). For once, we had perfect weather for the event and the street was packed! We had an estimated 5,000 people come out to shop at our more than 150 vendor booths, enjoying great food, live music, and some of our best local beer, cider, and wine! We had a special guest this year – Charlie Xavier from Patch Brewing Company came out to thank the first responders who saved her life after her horrific accident one year ago. Charlie, Andre, and their two boys were thrilled to be there, and we were just as happy she was able to come out. It was a very touching moment for everyone who was there.
Looking forward, our Annual Awards Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at the Pavilion on Lakeland Farm. We moved the event to Saturday to allow people the opportunity to relax and enjoy a night out without having to work the next day! Come out and join us in your best “Roaring Twenties” attire as we celebrate our 98th year. Tickets are available on our website or stop by the office to reserve your seats now! This is an “advance sales only” event, and seats are limited, so don’t delay! We are already collecting items for our popular Silent and Live Auction, and nominations are coming in for our Award Winners. Also don’t forget that we will be drawing the winner for our Inflation Buster Raffle at the event – make sure you get your tickets before they’re all gone!
I’ll see you around, and remember to think, eat, and shop local and support your fellow Chamber members!
