Hospice of the Piedmont Announces Virtual Children’s Camp

Fall and Winter Dates Include Monthly Zoom Grief Support Groups

Hospice of the Piedmont is pleased to announce Journeys Camp@Home, a virtual grief support camp that will be held this fall and winter via Zoom. These camps are being offered for children and teens (4-18) who have been affected by the death of a loved one. The program is provided as a public service through Hospice of the Piedmont’s Center for Children and is funded by donations from grants and the community at large.

Our camps provide a safe and supportive environment that gives grieving children the opportunity to creatively express their thoughts and feelings, learn about grief, discover that they are not alone, and understand that their feelings are normal.

The seasonal camps will be held on three Thursdays during this fall and winter: November 19th, December 17th, and January 21st. Each camp will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. over Zoom. The evening’s activities will be different each month. Special guests will share their talents of music, storytelling, or play to create a therapeutic and expressive opportunity for children and teens to learn, share, and be delighted. All campers will receive a Camp@Home box of supplies upon registration.

For an application or more information about bereavement support, call the Center for Children’s Journeys program at Hospice of the Piedmont at 434-817-6900 or 1-800-975-5501 or visit www.hopva.org.

We are committed to providing care and support services to all members of our community regardless of their ability to pay. Hospice of the Piedmont does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, or age in admission, treatment, or participation in its programs, services and activities, or in employment.
