The Orange County Economic Development Office is pleased to announce it will co-host the 2022 Quad County Business Summit & QuadTank Pitch Competition along with the Economic Development Offices of Fluvanna County, Greene County, Louisa County, Madison County, and the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center on October 12, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., with lunch included.

The 7th Annual Quad County Business Summit will be held at Shenandoah Crossing Resort, in Louisa County. The Summit will include a keynote speaker, local business owner panel discussion with Q&A, opportunities for networking, and the QuadTank, a winner take all pitch competition. James Madison's Montpelier Job Opportunity

The Montpelier Foundation is seeking a Museum Shop Associate to join their team. The Museum Shop Associate is responsible for the sale of Montpelier Museum Shop merchandise, along with providing outstanding customer service to all Montpelier visitors as they tour the historic site. Museum shop staff should be able to provide current information about Montpelier's daily tour and special event schedule to all guests, along with helpful advice about touring the grounds.

Duties:

• Sale of Museum Shop merchandise.

• Provide friendly and helpful service to all Montpelier visitors.

• Stocking, maintenance, and cleaning of retail sales floor.

• Merchandise price changes as needed.

• Comprehensive visitor assistance; ensuring all Montpelier visitors view their time as a pleasant and educational experience.

Qualifications:

• Must possess good public relation skills and display a pleasant personality.

• Must be able to respond in a positive manner.

• Must possess a willingness to work as part of a team and the ability to take initiative when warranted.

• Preference given to individuals with prior retail and cash register experience, and those possessing a high school diploma or equivalency.

• Acceptable background check.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate of: $13.00 to $15.00.
