The 98th Annual Awards Banquet was held Saturday, November 12 at the Pavilion on Lakeland Farm. The venue was beautifully decorated and set up by owner Janet Sedwick, and nearly 200 members and their guests met for an evening of fun, good food, and recognition of our Award Winners for 2022. Our first attempt at a “themed” event was a huge success, with many attendees dressed in 1920’s attire in a nod to our founding in 1924. Special thanks to our guest speaker Charlie Anne Xavier, who provided a powerful message of Gratitude for the group.
Congratulations to our Award Winners for 2022:
Businessperson of the Year: Beate Casati, owner of Cavallo Gallery and Custom Framing
Agri-Business of the Year: Marshall Dairy Farm, Unionville (Keith and Deanne Marshall, owners)
Susie Miller Community Service Award: Jeff Poole, former editor of the Orange Review
John L. Stanley Award for Excellence: Patrick McAloon, co-owner, The Holladay House Inn
Business and Education Partnership Award: Dogwood Village of Orange County and the Orange County
High School Nurse Aide Training Program
In addition to our annual awards, there was a costume competition for the best 1920’s outfit! Congratulations to Yvette Ruiz and Joe Clontz for winning this contest! Joe and Yvette each received 2 complementary tickets to the 2023 Orange Uncorked Wine Festival.
After dinner, our traditional live auction for some great items was conducted by guest auctioneer Robert Strickler. As always, this was as much fun to watch as to participate!
Finally, thanks to our Banquet Committee, who spent countless hours planning and organizing the event; and to our volunteers, who, as always, give their time and energy to help with setup, during the event, and with cleanup afterwards. We couldn’t do it without you! Check out the pictures from this event!
