Who do you know is outstanding in our community? Please send in your nominations for our 2022 banquet awards.
Criteria for Award Nominations
Business Person(s) of the Year
· In a business operating a minimum of 5 years and financially sound.
· Has actively participated in local business, civic, youth, or other organizations.
· Has a favorable perception of their business by other business people.
· Consideration will be given to business people who have long standing in our community and whose contributions are cumulative.
· Nominee(s) should be progressive in business and community interaction.
· Nominee(s) should make sound contributions to their community (i.e. payroll, local purchases, and public relations).
Agri-Business Person (s) of the Year
· In an agriculturally related business operating a minimum of 3 years and financially sound.
· Has actively participated in local agriculture, farm, business, civic, or other organizations.
· Has a favorable perception of their Agri-Business by other business people.
· Nominee(s) should be progressive in business and community interaction.
· Nominee(s) should make sound contributions to their community.
Susie Miller Community Service Award
· A member of the community.
· Participation in local organizations.
· Favorable perception by the community and in his/her volunteer field.
· Should be progressive, forward thinking and have made positive contributions to his/her field of participation.
· Particular emphasis placed on volunteer contributions in the community.
· Extra consideration will be given to nominees who have a long standing in the community and whose contributions are cumulative.
John L. Stanley Award For Excellence
· This award honors the memory of John L. Stanley, twice President of the Chamber and is given to a Chamber Member who distinguishes himself/herself in service to the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.
· Excelled in the promotion of the Chamber system and directly contributed to a sound & healthy business climate in Orange County.
· Supported progressive programs of Chamber work & stimulated activities that developed & employed OC economic resources.
· Provided creative Chamber leadership & effective coordination in solving community business problems while initiating community action throughout Orange County.
· Made traceable contributions to the county's well being through business, public relations, government affairs, economic development or tourism.
William Carrington Business & Education Partnership Award
· Award recognizes an outstanding partnership between a business entity and a school/teacher/or class of students. This award honors the memory of William Carrington, former Headmaster of Grymes Memorial School, who was instrumental in formulating the Chamber's program of Business & Education Partnerships and the Orange County Educational Foundation.
· Partnership must have occurred between October 01, 2021 and September 30, 2022.
· Partnerships with the OC public and private schools, as well as Germanna Community College are eligible.
· Nominations must include information on both the business representative and the school name with the teacher, grade and number of the students involved plus an outline of the partnership and the dates it occurred.
