Donna Staton, president of Culpeper Medical Center, accepted the award on behalf of the hospital on Friday, Feb. 5, which was also National Wear Red Day. On the first Friday in February — which is designated as American Heart Month — Novant Health UVA Health System team members were encouraged to wear red to help raise awareness for heart disease and stroke.

Culpeper Medical Center is a 70-bed acute care hospital with a 24/7 emergency room and many comprehensive programs for your health and wellness. At our facility, you will benefit from a wide range of highly skilled specialists and caregivers, including UVA providers, located onsite.

When you walk into our doors, you can expect excellence in emergency medicine, critical care and inpatient care. Our facility is accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent organization that evaluates healthcare organization performance in areas that most affect patient health and safety.

We are also proud of achieving an ‘A’ grade in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2020 Hospital Safety Grade, a designation recognizing hospitals’ efforts in protecting patients from harm and providing safer healthcare. Culpeper Medical Center was in the top third of hospitals nationwide – and among only 36 hospitals in the state of Virginia – to receive an ‘A.’
